What I work on

I build the platform that runs ML models at Dropbox - multi-tenant inference on Kubernetes, with the fun that comes with it: latency, GPU utilization, cost, availability, tenant isolation, and getting engineers across the company to actually adopt the thing. Half distributed systems, half platform-as-product.

Background

Senior Software Engineer at Dropbox (2022–present), previously SWE at Microsoft. BS/MS in Computer Science from the University of Utah, with a master’s focus on NLP and data science.

Research

A few things from grad school:

• Compass - Spatiotemporal sentiment analysis of the 2016 US presidential election. KDD 2017.
• AIPro - Open source data processing framework for AI / data science as a service. ICDE 2019. (My master’s thesis.)
• Undergraduate Thesis - Scalable topic modeling in Latent Dirichlet Allocation with distributed systems and message passing.
